Josefina Cuesta is Full Professor in the History Department of the University of Salamanca, Spain. She is an international leading historian who specialized in Spanish contemporary history, memory and history and gender studies. She has published many articles in leading Spanish and international prestigious journals. Currently she is the director of the Center for Women Studies in the University of Salamanca. Among her most famous books are Historia del presente (1993) y La odisea de la memoria. Historia de la memoria en España. Siglo XX (2008).
