Gaetano Zazzaro

Gaetano Zazzaro is a data scientist with a degree in Mathematics from the University of Naples Federico II. His thesis focused on Cybernetics, with an emphasis on Natural Language Processing and Text Mining. Since 2008, he has been a researcher at the Italian Aerospace Research Centre (CIRA), where he currently leads the Laboratory of “Data Science for Research Facilities”.
His research spans machine and statistical learning as well as data mining, with a particular focus on predictive modeling for industrial plants. He specializes in transfer learning and explainable machine learning, leveraging meta-learning techniques. He has applied data science methodologies in both supervised and unsupervised learning across diverse fields, including meteorology, seismology, astrophysics, epidemiology, biomedicine, neurology, energy, and aeronautical maintenance. He develops advanced algorithms and models for analyzing large volumes of streaming time series data and designs robust frameworks for online data processing. Additionally, he employs ensemble algorithms for multiview clustering and fuzzy cluster analysis to rapidly optimize data aggregation outcomes.
His interests also encompass theoretical AI, human–machine interactions, logic, and the philosophy of mathematics.
