Director of the Jan Patočka Archive at the Center for Theoretical Study (CTS), the Institute of Advanced Studies at Charles University and the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague. Co-director of CTS. Editor of Jan Patočka Complete Works. Translator of Being and Time and some other Heidegger's texts into Czech. Participated in external graduate study led by Jan Patočka 1968–72 at Charles University, then organizing Patočka's private seminars and lectures until his death 1977. Degree at the Faculty of Nuclear Physics of the Czech Technical University, Prague 1964. Until 1989 worked as a computer serviceman. Doctor honoris causa at Charles University Prague, 2008.
