Catarina Carreira Nogueira Casanova
Catarina Casanova is an associated professor at the School of Social and Political Sciences (ISCSP), University of Lisbon. She holds a PhD in Biological Anthropology from the University of Cambridge, UK. Her research areas are primate behaviour and ecology and primate conservation. She also conducts research on human/non–human interface (specially ethno-primatology) and multispecies ethnography. Prof. Casanova has been working in Guinea-Bissau for almost two decades, where she co-founded the Dári Project. She won the UTL–Santander Scientific Award in 2008 specifically for Anthropology. She is a founding member of the Portuguese Primatology Association (of which she has been President and Vice-President for 2 terms). She belongs to several scientific societies. She is a research member of CAPP/ISCSP, and a research collaborator at CIAS (Centro de Investigação em Antropologia e Saúde).
