Natalia Trapani has is degree thesis exam in 1999 with a thesis on safety of plants subjected to major risk. In 2003 she discussed her Ph.D. thesis about the seismic behaviour of floating roof tanks. From 2005 she is a researcher of “Mechanical industrial plant” scientific sector and teaches “Reliability and safety of production systems” at University of Catania (Italy). Her research activities are mainly related to dependability, safety and maintenance in industrial plants and they are often developed with the cooperation of industries interested in the research results. In the last years she was also interested in industrial and management topics such as job safety, logistics, and multi-criteria decision making analysis and applications. Recently some research activities are developed about risk analysis in healthcare systems.
