Main Professional Experiences and AssignmentsAfter its humanistic Secondary School studies at Liceo Ginnasio GiuseppeGaribaldi, Raffaele Persico achieved his degree in Engineering (summa cum laude)in 1996 from University of Naples Federico II, discussing a final dissertation inOptoelectronics entitled “Contactless Characterization of Semiconductors”.Afterwards, he performed the exam for the professional qualification, still atUniversity Federico II in 1996. He achieved the Ph.D. degree in Electronic andInformatic Engineering at Seconda Università degli Studi di Napoli in 1999,discussing a final dissertation entitled “Inversion algorithms for electromagneticdiagnostics: Applications to materials and buried objects. After his Ph.D. he hasbeen fellow student with a research contract at Seconda Università for a year, and atthe end of it has discussed a final dissertation entitled “Algoritmi per la DiffusioneInversa Elettromagnetica per la Diagnostica Ottica ed alle Microonde”. In 2001, Hebecame Researcher in the Consortium of Research on Advanced Remote SensingSystems (CO.RI.S.T.A.). In December 2001, he became Research Scientist at theInstitute for Electromagnetic Sensing of the Environment (IREA) of the NationalCouncil of Researches (CNR), where he was confirmed in July 2002. Since January2007, he has been working at the Institute of Archaeological Heritage - Monumentsand Sites (IBAM-CNR).
