Khaled Hamad is an associate professor of civil engineering at the University of Sharjah, UAE. Prior to that, he worked as an assistant professor of civil engineering and geomatics at local universities in Palestine. After completing his PhD in June 2004 and until June 2007, Dr. Hamad worked as an Assistant Research Scientist in the Transportation Operations Group of the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI). Dr. Hamad's primary research and professional interests are in the areas of intelligent transportation systems, traffic operations and control, and infrastructure management systems. His work has been published in several peer-reviewed technical journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Hamad has received several awards throughout his career, including Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport, University of Sharjah Annual Incentive Award for Teaching, National Science Foundation Student Award, and U.S. Department of State's Fulbright Scholarship.
