Cassiano Teixeira de Freitas Fagundes is a Doctoral student with a Master’s Degree in Translation Studies at the Postgraduate Translation Studies Program (PGET), Federal University of Santa Catarina, Florianópolis, Brazil. He holds a research grant from the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Level Personnel (CAPES). He is a Specialist in English–Teaching Methodology and Translation at the Pontificial Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR), Curitiba, Brazil.His research centers around the translation of literary representations of linguistic varieties and dialects, and the interconnections of translation with culture, society and politics. He is currently focusing on the literary work of Woody Guthrie and its translations throughout the world.
