Dr Elizabeth Walton is a senior lecturer in inclusive education. She teaches undergraduate and post-graduate students in courses in inclusive education and supervises honours, masters and PhD students in the field.
Her research interests are focused on teacher education to develop effective pedagogies for diverse learners.
She has written articles on inclusive education that have been published in various local and international journals, and chapters on inclusive classroom practices in text-books for teachers.
She is a member of the forum of the Unesco chair in teacher education for diversity and development at the Wits School of Education and serves on the editorial board of two international journals.
Prior to joining Wits, Elizabeth spent 20 years in education management and high-school English teaching.
