Cinzia Buccianti teaches Demography, Territorial Demography and Ethnic Demography at the University of Siena; she also works with the department of medicine at the university’s post--graduate school in public health. Furthermore she gives lectures in a Masters level degree entitled Mutual aid and integrative health.
Some of her interests in research include: Demographical aging in developed countries in relation to problems such as fertility and mortality, in developing countries; anthropological and demographical aspects found in particular segments of populations in areas of Africa (Smaala tribes in Tunisia, the mining communities of Eritrea).
She has also written a number of monographs, papers and articles.
