Elisa Perego studied at the University of Pavia, where she graduated “cum laude” in Foreign Languages (English and Hungarian) and where she was awarded a PhD in Linguistics (2004). She is currently a tenured research fellow in English Language and Linguistics at the University of Trieste in the Department of Law, Language, Translation and Interpreting Studies. Her publications are mainly in the field of audiovisual translation, relating specifically to subtitling, dubbing and audio description. Her recent research has focused on the cognitive effectiveness of subtitling and on the cognitive and evaluative dimensions of dubbing and subtitling.
