Giuliana Barbano

Is a registered architect in Turin, Italy. She received her architectural education at the Polytechnic University of Turin. She runs her architectural office, Studio Barbano, specialized in renovation and restoration of existing buildings. Her wide experience in architecture include design competitions, interior design and renovations to residential and retail buildings, feasibility studies for academic buildings. She frequently attends architectural tours in Italy and Europe. She is an International Associate Member of the American Intitute of Architects and served as Italian Section Director at AIA Continental Europe chapter during 2011-2012. She curated an exhibition in Turin in 2007 titled ‘Architetti Americani in Europa’ which was attended by architects from Europe and those were members of the AIA Continental Europe chapter. All of the exhibited projects were published in a book under the same title and edited by her. Giuliana carries out design research in architecture with concentration on symbols, interior design and many other topics which occasionally turns into published articles.
