Pierluca Galloni
Pierluca Galloni was born in Rome, Italy on February 20th, 1977. He obtained his degree in Chemistry in 2002, graduating cum laude from University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. In March 2006 he obtained his Ph. D. in Chemical Sciences at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” (Tutor: Prof. Floris). In 2004, he spent two months and half at the University of Houston (Texas, USA) as a visiting student in Prof. Kadish' laboratory, performing electrochemical measurements. From October to December 2004 he was a Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Amsterdam (Holland) in Prof. De Cola’s laboratory, performing photo-physical measurements. From april to september 2006 he was a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Prof. Robertino Zanoni at University of Rome “La Sapienza”, working on functionalization of silicon surface with organic and organometallic compounds. From December 2006 he is Ricercatore Universitario (Assistent Professor) in Organic Chemistry at University of Roma “Tor Vergata”. In February 2007 he was visiting scientist at University of Minnesota-Duluth (USA). He published 17 papers regarding synthetic and mechanistic aspects of donor-acceptor systems for energy and electron transfer reactions, metal catalysis in C-C bond formation and oxidation of organic and organometallic compounds. He is member of Italian Chemical Society (SCI) since 2002 and he is the local representative of SCI Young Group in University of Rome “Tor Vergata”.
