Rosita Maglie (rosita.maglie@uniba.it) is a researcher and lecturer in English Language and Translation at the University of Bari “Aldo Moro”.
Her main research interests are in Specialized Discourse, Corpus-based Translation Studies, and Applied Linguistics.
Her PhD dissertation, along with other publications, focus on the use of domain-specific parallel and comparable corpora specially collected in order to investigate English and Italian Medical Discourse (2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011,2015).
Another area of interest includes cross-cultural communication in fashion advertising, a topic on which she has published different papers (2010, 2011 and 2012).
Her publications include two volumes: Understanding the Language of Medicine (2009) Aracne, and English4Fashion (2010) Wip Edizioni. An additional area of study she is interested in, examines approaches to teaching English to young learners by engaging with cross-cultural differences and gender variance. Two of her recent articles are on this research field (2012, 2014).
