Antonio Piga. PhD in Linguistics obtained at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Naples Federico II. Senior Researcher in English Language and Translation Studies at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Cagliari. He was a former lecturer in English Language and Linguistics at the Department of Modern Philology “Salvatore Battaglia” of the University of Naples Federico II, and a lecturer in General Linguistics and Glottology at the Department of Linguistics and Stylistics of the University of Cagliari. His primary research interests lie in the study of code-switching, interlanguages, dialects, contrastive linguistics (English linguistics and Italian linguistics), institutional and inter-institutional languages of the European Union and the United Nations, social semiotics, and English for Specific Purposes (legal discourse, discourse of tourism, political discourse, financial discourse).
