Esther Arroyo i Amayuelas is Professor of Civil Law at the University of Barcelona (since 2003). She has published extensively in Spain and abroad on Spanish, Catalan and European civil law, especially in the field of contracts, property rights, successions and family law. She takes part in different Spanish, Catalan and European research projects funded by public bodies (since 1995) and was granted different scholarships from the European Commission (Project Training and Mobility for Researchers) and the DAAD. Ms. Arroyo i Amayuelas has carried out her research in Germany (University of Münster, 1998-1999, 2001; Jena, 2003) as well as in Italy (Verona, 2002; Turin, 2004). She has also been beneficiary of a Scholarship from the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affaires to research at the University of Ottawa (1999) and McGill University (2001) on “trust”. Today, Ms. Arroyo is beneficiary of a Jean Monnet Module for the teaching of European Private Law in the University of Barcelona (2002-2008). Since 2004, Ms. Arroyo is a member of the international Research Group “Acquis Communautaire”.
